If youāre looking to experience a more laid-back side of Siesta Key, Turtle Beach is the perfect spot. Located on the southern end of the island, it offers a quieter, more natural beach experience compared to the popular main beach.

What Makes Turtle Beach Different
Unlike the powdery white sand at Siesta Beach, Turtle Beach has darker, coarser sand, which makes it one of the best places on the island for:
Shelling
Finding shark teeth
Exploring a more untouched shoreline
Itās also a sea turtle nesting area, giving the beach its name and adding to its natural charm.

š Things to Do at Turtle Beach
Turtle Beach is perfect if you want more than just laying in the sand:
Kayak or paddleboard through nearby mangroves with Ride & Paddle
Fish at Blind Pass Lagoon
Launch a boat from the public ramp
Enjoy a peaceful sunset without the crowds
This is where many locals go when they want to relax and unwind.
š Shelling at Turtle Beach?
Best time: Winter and spring months (December - May), especially during low tide which exposes buried shells.
Best locations: Focus on the "wrack line" (the line of debris left by the tide) and areas where water meets the sand, especially near the southern end of the beach.
Type of shells: common finds include Fighting Conches, Lettered Olives, Calico Scallops, Auger shells and occasionally Sailor's Ear.
Rules and Tips: It's illegal to collect shells containing live organisms in Florida. Keep only empty shells and try to leave some for the next explorers. š
