The Complete Guide to Siesta Key Beach Access Points: Parking, Locations & Local Tips

Siesta Key may be famous for its powdery white sand and beautiful Gulf sunsets, but figuring out where to actually get onto the beach — and where to park — can be confusing if you're visiting for the first time.
While Siesta Beach offers a huge public parking area and plenty of amenities, there are also smaller public beach access points scattered along Siesta Key. Some have parking, some are pedestrian-only, and each puts you on a slightly different stretch of shoreline.
Here’s our guide to the public beach accesses on Siesta Key, starting at the north end of the island and working south.
Parking tip: Parking at the smaller beach accesses is free but very limited. During weekends, holidays and peak season, spaces can fill quickly. If you're staying on Siesta Key, walking, biking or using the free Siesta Key Breeze trolley or the Frog Hop can often be much easier than driving.
Beach Access #1 – North Shell Road / Shell Beach
Beach Access #1 is unlike most of the other Siesta Key accesses. Located at the northern end of the island near Big Sarasota Pass, this small beach has views across the pass toward Lido Key.
It's more secluded than the main Siesta Beach area and is a great location for watching boats travel through the pass and enjoying the scenery.
🚗 Parking: Limited parking has historically been available along North Shell Road.
⚠️ Current status: Sarasota County currently lists Beach Access #1 as temporarily closed due to hurricane damage, so check the county's current status before planning a visit.
Good for: Views, sunsets, birdwatching and exploring the north end of Siesta Key.
Beach Access #2 – 41 Beach Road
Access #2 is near the northern end of Siesta's Gulf-facing beach and is convenient for people staying in the northern Beach Road and Village area.
It's a simple neighborhood beach entrance rather than a full-service beach park, making it particularly useful for visitors who can reach the beach on foot.
♿ Parking: Sarasota County currently designates one ADA parking space only. There is no additional public parking at this access.
Good for: Visitors staying within walking or biking distance and anyone looking for a quieter entry onto the beach.
Beach Access #3 – 100 Beach Road
Continue south along Beach Road and you'll reach Access #3, another convenient entrance to the northern section of Siesta's famous white-sand shoreline.
This is primarily a neighborhood access and is especially convenient for nearby vacationers.
🚫 Parking: No public parking. Pedestrian access only.
Good for: Walking to the beach from nearby accommodations and catching a Gulf sunset.
Beach Access #3B – 136 Beach Road
Yes, Siesta Key has an Access 3B!
Located between Access #3 and #4, this is another small pedestrian entrance leading to a beautiful stretch of beach close to Siesta Key Village.
🚫 Parking: No public parking. Pedestrian access only.
Because there's no parking, it's most convenient for visitors already staying nearby.
Good for: Walk-to-the-beach vacations, sunsets and avoiding the main Siesta Beach entrance.
Beach Access #4 – 180 Beach Road
Beach Access #4 is one of the most convenient smaller accesses for visitors staying near Siesta Key Village.
A natural, unpaved path leads toward the Gulf and opens onto the wide white-sand beach.
🚗 Parking: Parking is available but extremely limited. Local guides generally report only a handful of spaces, so don't count on finding one during busy periods.
Good for: Siesta Key Village visitors, morning beach walks and sunsets.
Staying near Access #4?
High Tide offers the best of both worlds — convenient access to the beach while also putting you close to the restaurants, shops and entertainment of Siesta Key Village.
That means less time searching for beach parking and more time enjoying Siesta Key.
Beach Access #5 – 200 Beach Road
Just down the road from Access #4, Beach Access #5 is another popular choice for people staying around the Village.
The location makes it easy to combine a beach day with lunch, dinner, drinks or shopping in Siesta Key Village.
🚗 Parking: Free public parking is available, but the lot is small and fills quickly, particularly during weekends and peak visitor periods. Sarasota County confirms this as one of the numbered accesses with parking.
Good for: Beach + Village days and visitors who want to be close to restaurants and shops.
What About Beach Access #6?
Here's something that confuses a lot of visitors: you'll see references to an Access #6 in some older and unofficial guides. However, Sarasota County's current official beach-access directory jumps from Access #5 to Access #7. It does not currently list a county beach facility designated as Siesta Key Beach Access #6.
For trip planning, we recommend following the county's current numbered access system.
Beach Access #7 – 402 Beach Road
Access #7 brings you farther south along Beach Road and closer to the main Siesta Beach area.
Unlike the tiny pedestrian accesses farther north, this location includes a small parking area. A longer path through coastal vegetation leads from Beach Road toward the Gulf.
🚗 Parking: Public parking is available, but it is still limited compared with Siesta Beach. Arrive early if you're hoping to park here.
Good for: Visitors who want a smaller access with parking while still enjoying the main Siesta Beach shoreline.
Beach Access #8 – 458 Beach Road
Access #8 is another smaller alternative to entering through the main Siesta Beach complex.
The path to the Gulf takes you through a stretch of protected coastal vegetation before opening onto the expansive beach.
🚗 Parking: Public parking is available. However, like the other smaller access lots, availability can become tight during busy periods. Sarasota County currently lists Access #8 at 458 Beach Road.
Good for: A traditional Siesta Beach day without entering through the main pavilion area.
Beach Access #9 – 514 Beach Road
Beach Access #9 is one of the last smaller public accesses before reaching the main Siesta Beach area.
It's a simple beach entrance without the extensive amenities you'll find at Siesta Beach Park.
🚗 Parking: Parking is available but limited. Because the lot is small, it's smart to have a backup plan during busy times. Sarasota County currently lists the access at 514 Beach Road.
Good for: Quick beach visits, sunsets and visitors staying along this section of Beach Road.
Beach Access #10 – 598 Beach Road
Access #10 is especially convenient for vacationers staying along this stretch of Beach Road. A sandy, unpaved path provides direct public access to the Gulf.
🚫 Parking: There is no public parking at Beach Access #10. It is pedestrian access only.
That's important to know before putting #10 into your GPS and arriving with a car full of beach gear.
Good for: People staying nearby who can simply walk to the beach.
Want to stay right next to Access #10?
A Tide That Binds Us is located directly beside Beach Access #10.
Instead of loading up the car and searching for a parking space, guests can grab the beach chairs and head straight for the Gulf.
The location also puts you within walking distance of Siesta Key Village and directly along the island's free trolley route — making it easy to enjoy more of Siesta Key without constantly getting back in the car.
Beach Access #11 – 690 Beach Road
Access #11 brings you even closer to the main Siesta Beach park and provides another pedestrian entrance to the same spectacular shoreline.
🚫 Parking: No public parking. Pedestrian access only.
This makes #11 particularly convenient for nearby residents and vacation rental guests.
Good for: Walk-in beach access and reaching Siesta Beach without going through the main parking area.
Siesta Beach – 948 Beach Road
If parking and amenities are your priorities, Siesta Beach is the obvious choice.
This is the main public beach park and the place most first-time visitors picture when they hear "Siesta Key Beach."
Unlike the smaller neighborhood accesses, Siesta Beach has more than 950 free parking spaces.
You'll also find:
Restrooms
Food and beach concessions
Lifeguards
Playground
Picnic shelters
Sand volleyball courts
Tennis and pickleball courts
Beach access mat
Beach wheelchairs
Bicycle and scooter racks
Lifeguards are currently on duty from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, according to Sarasota County.
🚗 Parking: 950+ free spaces, including ADA-accessible parking as well as designated areas for motorcycles and recreational vehicles.
Even with that much parking, the lot can become busy on beautiful weekends, holidays and during peak season.
Good for: Families, first-time visitors, accessibility, longer beach days and anyone who wants restrooms, food and other amenities nearby.
Beach Access #12 – 6490 Midnight Pass Road
Now we head south to Crescent Beach.
Beach Access #12 is one of the most useful public entry points for visitors wanting to experience the quieter Crescent Beach section of Siesta Key.
It's also a popular starting point for beachgoers interested in walking toward Point of Rocks, one of Siesta Key's most distinctive natural areas.
🚗 Parking: Public parking is available, but spaces are limited compared with Siesta Beach. Sarasota County currently lists Access #12 as a parking-accessible beach facility at 6490 Midnight Pass Road.
There are no major beach-park amenities here, so bring what you'll need for your visit.
Good for: Crescent Beach, beach walks, quieter beach days and accessing the area near Point of Rocks.
Beach Access #13 – Point of Rocks Road
Beach Access #13 is located at the southern end of Crescent Beach near Point of Rocks.
Point of Rocks is known for its limestone formations and is one of the most recognizable sections of Siesta Key's shoreline.
🚫 Parking: No public parking. Pedestrian access only. Sarasota County specifically identifies #13 as a no-parking access.
If you're not staying within walking distance, Access #12 may be a more practical option for reaching this part of Crescent Beach.
Good for: Point of Rocks, exploring Crescent Beach and visitors staying nearby.
Which Siesta Key Beach Access Should You Choose?
It really depends on how you're spending your day.
Want lots of parking and amenities? Choose Siesta Beach.
Want to explore Crescent Beach or Point of Rocks? Start with Access #12 if you need parking.
Staying near Point of Rocks? Pedestrian-only Access #13 puts you right in the area.
Don't Forget the Siesta Key Breeze
One of the easiest ways to avoid the parking hunt altogether is the Siesta Key Breeze trolley.
The trolley runs between Siesta Key Village and the southern end of the island, and rides are free. Sarasota County currently lists regular service from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with modified hours possible on holidays.
If you're staying on the island, consider walking to your closest beach access and using the trolley for restaurants, shopping and exploring other areas of Siesta Key.
